Effect of venous flow on frequency of venous vasomotion in the bat wing.

چکیده

R contractions of veins are a prominent feature of the veins in the bat's wing. It has been suggested that the principle stimulus for this activity may be pressure within the vessel. That the distending force of blood pressure excites the activity of vascular smooth muscle has been pointed out by others.' This investigation was carried out to determine what changes in the frequency of vasomotion would occur as a result of increasing the volume of blood per unit of time delivered to a vein from the arterial vessels.

Patterns of venous vasomotion in the bat wing.

DAGROSA, Lotm S. Patterns of venuus vasomotion in the bat wing. Am. J. Physiol. 218(Z) : 530-535. 1970.-Similar patterns of rhythmic active venous vasomotion in the intact, denervated, and isolated vessels of the bat wing were obtained with microscopic photometry. The patterns were classified into continuous and discontinuous venomotion due to the differences in the relaxation phase. The contra...

Erectile dysfunction is an important problem for men and their families which has an organic cause in about 50 percent of cases. When there is a vasculogenic etiology for this defect, radiologic assessment is unavoidable. Cavernosometry and Cavernosography are ultimate procedures for diagnosis of venous leakage. There is no reliable data about this defects in Iran. The objective of this study w...

I-46: Obstetrical Doppler

Accurate assessment of gestational age, fetal growth, and the detection of fetal and placental abnormalities are major benefits of sonography. Color Doppler can be used to assist in the identification of vascular architecture, detection of vascular pathology and visualization of blood flow changes associated with physiologic processes and disease states. The clinical applications of obstetrical...

Effects of venous pressure elevation on myogenic vasoconstrictive responses to static and dynamic arterial pressures.

In order to establish the nature of the stretch-evoked dynamic properties of vascular smooth muscle in arterioles, we have examined the static and dynamic effects of both arterial pulse pressure and elevated venous pressure on the resistance vessels (arteries and arterioles) in an intestinal mesenteric preparation derived from dogs. The dynamic myogenic response to stretch stimuli was directly ...
